Q:Haha, you say that I am contributing to stigmatizing those who have had abortions, while you seem to want to stigmatize me. You said earlier that you were not sorry that you hurt my, ahem, "fee-fees" haha. And it doesn't surprise me. It seems your aim is to cause emotional distress for me. Well, feel congratulated. I do not judge you. Your life and decisions are entirely your own. But, I feel you are being more judgemental than you realize yourself to be in this situation.

Wow.  Speaking of missing the point…

There’s a difference between “being a snarky asshole to an individual” - which, yes, I absolutely am being a snarky asshole to you, because you are espousing a nasty, personally-offensive opinion which supports an inherently violent misogynist ideology, and also because your initial post ended all “but be nice to me if you disagree!” and, well, I’m just contrary like that - and *stigmatizing* people.  Two totally different things.  I’m being a jerk to you.  That is not “stigmatizing” you.  I am not creating social conditions which result in your being viewed with collective judgment or being treated differently by the wider culture around us.  I’m just interacting with you - as one individual to another - in a derisive manner.  Claiming that my tearing your posts apart in a snarky, mildly rude way is “stigmatizing” you is not only wrong, it’s offensive to those who genuinely *are* stigmatized in this culture.

As to my aims?  Causing you emotional distress is actually not my aim.  My aim is to demonstrate in no uncertain terms, both to you and to those who might read this exchange, that “feminism” and “pro-life” are incompatible ideologies, and that no, you cannot be a pro-life feminist.  My aim is to prove you wrong, very wrong, and in doing so, hopefully someone - whether that’s you, or someone else reading along - who either agrees with your stance or maybe only partly agrees or perhaps hasn’t really thought about it much, will be prompted to reexamine their beliefs and stop propagating the kind of nonsense that was in your original post on this topic.  Does that make me judgmental?  Sure.  I do judge your opinion, and I judge you for holding it.  Going back to something I said in my original rebuttal to your post, some opinions are demonstrably WRONG, and I am not obligated to smile and tenderly pat you on the shoulder as you say very wrong things that negatively affect other people’s lives.  You are entitled to your opinion; you are not entitled to not be judged for your opinion.  Never ever judging anyone’s opinion ever is not a virtue.  Some opinions need to be judged.

Feminist, Witch, writer. Righteous rage, random personal anecdotes, pretties I find on the interwebs, occasional pity parties, and reblogging them as do words good.

Privileged identities include: White, cisgender, binary-identified-gender, currently-able-bodied, allistic, middle-class (lower-middle currently, grew up upper-middle), university-educated.

Non-privileged/oppressed identities include: female, queer, non-Christian/Witch, polyamorous, non-neurotypical.

My real blog, Witch.Words, may be found here.

Oh, and she/her will do fine for pronouns, thank you.

(As for the title...it's generally safer not to ask.)
