Whoever put together this photoset I’m sure did it as a tribute to Adele, but I see it as a PERFECT EXAMPLE of how when there’s a plus size celebrity, EVERY SINGLE MAGAZINE COVER they’re on is a closeup/face shot. Did you ever see this many close ups of Britney? Gaga? And that Vogue cover is ‘shopped to HELL because although Adele has lost weight, she’s not that skinny.

Just let her be fat and fabulous. It doesn’t take away from her amazing talent.

It seriously is like the exact opposite of ‘headless fatties’, but with the same exact intent. She’s talented and gorgeous, so let’s hide her ‘less than ideal’ body and pretend it doesn’t exist.

I also see a couple things about the way they’re presenting her face in these closeups - like how not a one of them involves a smile, even though Adele has a lovely contagious grin, because smiling makes fat cheeks more prominent, and how it looks like they’ve photoshopped her face thinner in much the same way they would her body.

I notice this because one of my favorite things about Adele suddenly being everywhere has been seeing someone with a face that looks more like mine than usual - broader, rounder, full-cheeked.  I’ve found coming to terms with my new face the hardest part about learning to accept and love my body after gaining some weight when I quit dieting for good, so it was helpful to have someone so visible and so Media-Approved Beautiful who had a face like mine.  

And they can’t even let her have that without trying to make it/her look thinner.
