They just wanted to recognize your inherent awesomeness /nods Also, you are a ‘self-starter,’ you are willing to take the initiative to do something when you see it needs to be done. Most people are more trepiditious in a new work environment.
…he says to the woman who has sent countless emails like “Sorry, could you clarify for me what the process is for this kind of document?” and “I hate to bother you, but can you confirm the producer number is XXXXXX [because there are three producers with the same name in the database and I have no idea how to tell which one is the correct one]?” in the last few days. It took me a good 10 minutes to work up the nerve to hit “new submission” on the input screen the first time one came in, because I was so afraid I was going to screw something up. :-P

post it here but have a unique tag so people can saviour it if it bothers them!

I’d say post it here, just keep a consistent tag so people can savior it if they want not. (No idea why they would want to, though.)
Oh, I’d have a consistent tag of course, both for people who don’t care to see, and for my own organizational purposes.

idk - i think it’s helpful to post where friends will see & validate it, but also if its upsetting & triggery at times, will it be hard for you if its on your main blog where you can’t get away from it? i’d start avoiding my blog - counterproductive
karethdreams replied to your post
You can do it!
As indeed I did, thank you! Hit send on the email just a minute ago. My eyes about rolled out of my head at the number of times I had eight-clause-long sentences to transcribe that left me going “…where the fuck do I even begin to punctuate this shit?” and the number of times I got to type out her trademark phrase “what lights you up”, but…it’s done. And really, she was a lovely person to work with, and her heart is in the right place, so I hope that her work reaches the people who will actually benefit from it instead of feeling alienated and irritable about it.
But I’m very glad to be done with this particular contract. I am officially taking the rest of the night off and doing not a damn thing productive at all. Also, there will be much eating of the toffee that is the only thing left from the baking extravaganza on Sunday. I don’t expect the plate to survive the night.
Oh, but one last OpenOffice autocorrect LOL before I put this assignment to bed:
In typing something about how small changes can create a large impact in one’s life, autocorrect tried to turn “You may feel a profound impact” into “You may feel a profanity-laced impact”. Well, I guess that depends entirely on what kind of changes you’re implementing, OpenOffice.
I really like that my OpenOffice is clearly illustrating what kind of person I am, though. ”Unlubricated” and “profanity-laced”, indeed.

I ran across that same tutorial a few days ago xD Small internet. I really like how it looks! Especially if you did just two beads, with the rings opposing and then a simple chain maybe as a necklace? (This prob only makes sense in my brain xD;)
I’m trying to picture it - I’m pretty notoriously bad at translating other people’s descriptions into mental images, sorry. You mean something like…basically taking one half of the little sample piece, and simply attaching chain to each side? That’d probably be quite pretty, actually - far more delicate and subtle than is my wont, but I could definitely see it. It would do well on someone who likes an elegant, understated style.
…in fact, if I can find some chain lying around somewhere, I may go ahead and do that tonight. Save the long rope-necklace version for tomorrow, seeing as how I’ve already had enough time with my wrist brace off for today. Thank you for the idea!
Oh, and if you decide to try out that tutorial, be aware that the first single unit you make is deceptive in its looseness; I tried first off with 18g 5/16 and cube-shaped hematite beads, and I thought it worked nicely, but Ozz was able, when I asked him to test it out for stability, to work the bead out of the “cage”. So I set it aside and did this version instead with 18g 3/16, and it seemed the perfect snugness on the first unit. But I discovered when I tried to add the second unit that it tightens it up a *lot*, hence the need for a connector between units. I’m gonna try that hematite version again tomorrow, I think, and see if it stabilizes the way I think it will when extended into multiple units.

Oooh, likey. Could definitely see a long, looped necklace with that design.

Oh, I wouldn’t dream of trying to get anyone who wasn’t already a fan to watch the old Who. It is nice as a fan of the old seeing all the nods and the continuity with the old show, but they’ve done a great w/ making the new self-contained/explaining
They did such a good job of that that I actually hadn’t realized for a long while that there was anything but new Who, in fact.

I can’t help it. Doctor Who is my one of my original fandoms. I remember watching it every weekend on PBS with my mom growing up. (The other fandoms I don’t remember a time not being a part of are Star Trek, Star Wars, and Tolkien.)
Oh wow, so you’re talking original Who, yes? I’m just gonna jump in with the new stuff cause honestly, my patience for old sci-fi effects and styling is pretty limited - almost didn’t watch B5 because of it. Tolkien and Star Wars, though, those are my two original fandoms too; my parents introduced us to SW when I was maybe, I dunno, 8 or so, and there was literally a year or more where every single weekend before my parents got up my brother and I would watch one of the movies.
Tolkien though…Tolkien holds a special place for me, cause it’s one of the few interests my dad and I have always shared - even now, it’s one of the very few points of common ground left. He started reading the books with me when I was about 10, maybe younger; he’s not a big reader, doesn’t read for pleasure, but my mom and brother and I all do, so he was always a little left out on that score around the house. With the exception of Tolkien, which he loved. So when I was old enough for them, he was really excited to share that with me. We went and saw all three LOTR movies together when they came out, midnight showings and all. Come to think of it, I ought to text him and see if he wants to go see The Hobbit whenever he’s in town next.
Anywho, I’m prolly gonna finish BtVS tonight. You’ll have to give my feels a few days to recover though, before I’m ready to move on to the new life-ruiner. :-P

Glad to hear it helped =) Hopefully it will continue to improve. As for Buffy, look on the bright side, <.< finishing Buffy means you can start Doctor Who sooner ;)
…you are a bad, bad man who is out to destroy my feels. I’m on to you, buddy.

Been feeling it a lot lately, in fact. To the point where part of me wishes I could just grab my muse by the shoulders and shake them while yelling “Just tell me what it is you want me to do for fuck’s sake!”
I can’t decide if it’s that we don’t know how to listen quite right, or if they enjoy playing hot-cold with us. -_-
